Dr Deb Sell, DC - AVCA/ IVCA Certified Animal Chiropractor Serving Central California

About Me!

I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California. We grew up in a farm-like atmosphere, so there were always animals around: chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, horses etc. I learned to ride horses at the tender age of 6 and never looked back!By the time I was 15, I had saved enough money to buy my own horse and took classes in dressage and vaulting.

As a young adult, I worked for six years at the Santa Cruz Veterinary Hospital. I was involved in every facet of the practice from kennel help to assistant surgical nurse.

I attended Cabrillo Junior College and then proceeded to UC Davis where I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Zoology. I then enrolled in Palmer College of Chiropractic-West in Sunnyvale, California. Upon receiving my Doctorate degree, I opened my own practice.

For 18 years my office had been located in Morgan Hill, California. After spending a number of years juggling both a human practice and animal practice, I decided to retire from human practice to devote 100 % of my energy to animal chiropractic.

In my spare time, I take part in endurance events, particularly long distance triathlons, in which I have been a competitive athlete since 1987. I have competed in 6 Canadian Ironman Triathlons and 3 World Championship Hawaiian Ironman Triathlons.

I have also combined my love for horses with my competitive spirit competing in endurance riding and Ride & Tie.

As well as competing personally, I am currently training "Echo", one of my 3 deaf dogs, in agility.

Over the years, I have been greatly rewarded in my profession by witnessing the enormous benefits of chiropractic care in my patients. Subsequently, I decided to apply my knowledge and skills to my first love - animals. I enrolled in one of the two AVCA certified courses for animal chiropractic in the country. Upon completion of a comprehensive course, I passed the AVCA certification examination and am now one of a few AVCA certified animal chiropractors in California. By treating animals with natural, non-invasive adjustments, I believe I have finally found my niche in life.
